Kim J. McCoy Spoke at Inaugural Hong Kong Pro Bono Week

On 23 November 2023, Kim J. McCoy was invited to speak at the inaugural Hong Kong Pro Bono Week’s Law Students & Junior Lawyers Sharing Session organised by probonohk together with PILnet, and hosted by Linklaters Asia.

During the session, Kim led the discussion by sharing the cases that he works on pro bono and what he has learned from the experience. He also spoke about the organisation he founded, Hong Kong Animal Law and Protection Organisation (HKALPO), how HKALPO assists those with animal related legal issues on a pro bono basis and how law firms and legal practitioners can lend their expertise to those that need it.

Additionally, Kim explained how the Bar Free Legal Service Scheme works and the different ways barristers offer their time on a pro bono basis to ensure participants had an understanding of how the Bar contributes to pro bono work generally.
