Chambers is delighted to welcome 6 new members:

Ophelia C.C. Yap
Ophelia was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2006. She is a civil and criminal practitioner. Her practice covers industrial summons, white-collar crime, corruptions, commercial frauds, conspiracy offences, sexual offences, trafficking in dangerous drugs, immigration cases, customs and excise cases, forfeiture proceedings, road traffic matters, commercial disputes, probate, personal injuries, Chinese Medicine Council board appeal and matrimonial proceedings.

Ema Leung
Ema was called to the Bar in 2017. She served pupillage with Mr Peter Duncan SC, Mr Ashok K. Sakhrani, Ms Wing Kay Po and Mr Eugene Yim, and as marshal to the Honourable Madam Justice Queeny Au-Yeung. Ema has been developing a broad and predominantly civil practice which includes commercial, company, employment, family and matrimonial, land, personal injuries, probate and trust matters. As to her criminal practice, Ema has trial and sentencing experience as fiat and defence counsel, and participates in the Duty Lawyer Scheme. Ema is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and actively developing an arbitration practice.

Agnes Kwok
Agnes is developing a broad criminal and civil practice. She has been instructed to appear in Magistracies, the District Court and the High Court either as a led junior or the sole advocate. She has experience in a wide range of criminal cases such as drug-related offences, industrial summons, building order summonses, road traffic offences, assaults and fraud cases. She also develops an extensive practice covering various aspects of civil matters, including but not limited to contractual and commercial disputes, adverse possession, tenancy disputes, personal injuries, bankruptcy proceedings, as well as family and matrimonial matters.

Belinda Law
Belinda joined the Bar with more than 17 years of tax and accounting experience, having worked as an in-house tax director at Credit Suisse and a senior tax accountant at Deloitte.  She co-authored International Tax Law and Practice, 1stEdition and authored the 2021 Online Supplement.  She is also the Examiner for the International Tax Paper of the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) Qualifying Examination.

Jenny Y. Zhang
Jenny joined Bernacchi Chambers upon completion of her pupillage with Ms. Anita Yip SC, Mr. Alan M.S. Ng, Mr. Kevin Hon, Mr. Giles Surman, and Mr. Adonis Cheung. In the same year, she was awarded the Charles Ching Memorial Scholarship from the Hong Kong Bar Association. She is developing a mixed civil and criminal practice, and accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work, with a keen interest in criminal, matrimonial and contract law. She is capable of conducting cases and drafting legal documents in both English and Chinese.

Jay Koon
Jay joined Chambers in 2021 following completion of his pupillage with Mr Valentine Yim, Mr Giles Surman, Ms Catherine Wong, Ms Queenie Ng, Mr Eugene Yim, and Ms Linda Wong.  He was also marshal to DHCJ Robert Whitehead SC. Jay obtained his LLB and PCLL from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and was awarded various scholarships and prizes during his studies. He then went on to complete an LLM at University College London, where he specialised in Litigation and Dispute Resolution and graduated with distinction.
