Ema maintains a broad and predominantly civil practice which includes commercial, company, employment, family and matrimonial, land, personal injuries, probate and trust matters. As to her criminal practice, Ema has trial and sentencing experience as fiat and defence counsel, and participates in the Duty Lawyer Scheme.
Ema has appeared as an advocate (either in her own right or as a led junior) in the Magistrates’ Courts, District Court, Family Court, Court of First Instance and Court of Appeal.
Outside of litigation, Ema provides a full spectrum of services in domestic and international arbitrations, whether as counsel, independent arbitrator or tribunal secretary. She is dually qualified as a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators, and a Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC)-accredited Tribunal Secretary. Ema has experience acting as sole and co-counsel in complex commercial arbitrations, and has advised on all aspects thereof from commencement through to enforcement. She is familiar with all major institutional rules.
Ema is capable of drafting legal documents and conducting proceedings in both English and Chinese.
