Lydia has a truly mixed practice; she is frequently instructed to handle civil matters (including probate and wills cases, urgent injunctions at the District Court and the High Court, winding-up proceedings, directors’ disputes and derivative actions, and producing HKEx legal opinions), criminal matters (from advice to appeal, and High Court bail applications), as well as matrimonial cases (including s.17 applications, maintenance pending suit applications, ancillary relief trials, and custody matters).

Lydia served pupillage with Mr. Selwyn Yu SC, Mr. Derek Chan SC, Mr. Eugene Yim, Mr. Jonathan Ah-weng, and Ms. Ann Lui. She was also marshal to Mr. Recorder Robert Whitehead SC (as he then was). In 2019, Lydia was awarded the Charles Ching Memorial Scholarship.

  • HKSAR v. APL Co. PTE Limited & another [2019] HKDC 656 (led by Mr. Robert Pang SC, with Mr. Bernard Chung) – successful prosecution of both defendants for offences relating to the import of strategic commodities
