Ema has been developing a broad and predominantly civil practice which includes commercial, company, employment, family and matrimonial, land, personal injuries, probate and trust matters.  As to her criminal practice, Ema has trial and sentencing experience as fiat and defence counsel, and participates in the Duty Lawyer Scheme.

Ema has appeared as an advocate (either in her own right or as a led junior) in the Magistrates’ Courts, District Court, Court of First Instance and Court of Appeal.

Outside of litigation, Ema is actively developing an arbitration practice.  She is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) Accredited Tribunal Secretary.  She has acted as sole and co-counsel in arbitrations and advised on various aspects including arbitration under multiple contracts, document production, interim measures and enforcement.  She is familiar with different arbitration rules including those of the HKIAC, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

Ema is capable of drafting legal documents and conducting proceedings in both English and Chinese.
