Senior Counsel (or Queen’s Counsel as they were called before 1st July 1997) are appointed by the Chief Justice of Hong Kong as a recognition of their outstanding ability and standing in the profession. The post-nominal “SC” is public identification of their special status.
Senior Counsel are also known as “Silks” because their gown is made of silk (whereas junior counsel wear gowns made of wool and cotton).
Our junior members are frequently led by our Silks.
Robert Whitehead, SC 韋浩德

Robert Whitehead SC is the Head of Chambers, a past President of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators, past Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association and sits as a Deputy High Court Judge. Mr. Whitehead has very significant experience in advocacy work specialising in commercial and corporate litigation, and arbitration and is recommended as a commercial dispute resolution Silk in Chambers & Partners Asia Pacific, and Chambers Global Guide.
Philip Dykes SC is a past Chairman of the Council of the Hong Kong Bar Association. Mr. Dykes practiced in England & Wales before joining the Attorney General’s Chambers in Hong Kong as a Crown Counsel in 1985. He entered private practice in 1992. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1997, and has developed a strong practice in constitutional, administrative, and immigration law.
As one of the few silks in Hong Kong with a preeminent mixed practice, Robert Pang SC is a truly versatile advocate. He is equally at home conducting criminal cases and civil cases at all levels, from magistracies to the Court of Final Appeal, and has a broad criminal as well as civil, commercial and family law practice.
Richard Todd KC (UK) is a well-regarded specialist in relationship generated disputes, particularly relating to ancillary relief, family arrangements, trust disputes and corporate disputes. Internationally, he is top ranked by the Legal 500 (UK), Chambers & Partners Global and Chambers & Partners (UK), and in Hong Kong, he is in the highest ranking in his field for the Chambers & Partners Guide and Doyles Guide.
Marc Corlett KC (NZ) is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer, having conducted over 150 trials at first instance, and over 100 appeals to the superior courts. He practices principally in civil, securities and other regulatory litigation. He is also instructed on complex white-collar crime and fraud; money laundering and breaches of AML regulations; proceeds of crime recovery actions.
