Esmond joined Chambers following completion of his pupillage with Mr. Bernard Chung, Mr. Eugene Yim, Mr. Vincent Chen and Mr. Wilson Leung, and marshalling with DHCJ Robert Whitehead SC.

He is developing a broad civil and criminal practice, and has appeared in various levels of courts, both as a led junior and an advocate in his own right.

Esmond’s civil practice includes commercial, banking and company matters, matrimonial and probate disputes, land and trust cases, insolvency, personal injuries, judicial review, defamation, civil fraud and asset discovery, and injunctive applications. Esmond has acted for the licensed bank and SFC-licensed company.  He has particular interest in competition law and public international law.

For his criminal practice, Esmond focuses on advising and defending cases of wide range of areas at both trial and appellate level, including commercial fraud and dishonesty crimes, money laundering, ICAC matters, sexual and drug-related offences, securities and regulatory cases, and offences concerning immigration, customs and excise and road traffic.

Esmond is a member of the Young Barristers’ Committee, Hong Kong Bar Association. He has the experience in delivering the CPD seminar.
