資深大律師（即在 1997 年 7 月 1 日前稱御用大律師）由終審法院首席法官所委任，以肯定其出衆的才能及在行業中的專業地位。資深大律師的英文簡稱爲 SC，標誌著他們的特別地位。
資深大律師的律師袍是絲製的，因此亦以「Silk」作別稱，而一般大律師的律師袍以羊毛及棉製造。

戴啟思資深大律師，現任香港大律師公會主席。戴資深首先於英格蘭及威爾斯執業，其後於 1985 年加入香港律政司辦公室擔任政府律師。戴資深於 1992 年展開私人執業，並於 1997 年被委任為御用大律師。戴資深是憲法、行政法及移民法方面的權威。
彭耀鴻資深大律師是多才多藝的訟辯人，無論刑事及民事案件都能應付自如。彭資深經常處理不同層級的案件，上至終審法院，下至裁判法院。

Marc Corlett QC (NZ) is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer, having conducted over 150 trials at first instance, and over 100 appeals to the superior courts.
