New Members
Chambers is delighted to welcome Cyrus Lau, Velda Yau, and Hilda Wong as new members.
Cyrus served pupillage with Mr Tony Li SC, Mr Valentine Yim, Mr Eugene Yim, Mr Robin D’Souza and Mr Simon Wong. He was also marshal to Deputy District Judge Eugene Yim in the Family Court. He obtained his LLB and PCLL from the University of Hong Kong. During his studies, he was awarded various scholarships and prizes and was placed on the Dean’s Honours List for three consecutive years, ranking 5th, 3rd and 6th in class respectively.
Velda is a Charles Ching Scholar of 2022. She joined Chambers in the same year after completing her pupillage with Mr. Robert Pang SC, Mr. Osmond Lam, Mr. Eugene Yim, Mr. Tim Parker and Mr. Richard Yip. Velda double majored in War Studies and Philosophy at King’s College London before studying Juris Doctor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She received various scholarships and awards during her legal studies, including ranking 1st in year for Civil Procedure and graduating on Dean’s List.
Hilda served pupillage with Ms. Pauline Leung, Mr. Eugene Yim, Mr. Robin Egerton, Mr. Dick Lee and Ms. Olivia Tsang. She was also marshal to Mr. Justice Russell Coleman SC. She studied law and business at the University of Warwick. Prior to coming to the Bar, Hilda worked in financial institutions and a leading multimedia company in Hong Kong where she took on roles related to cross-border contractual reviews, compliance and financial regulations.
