Cyrus is developing a broad civil and criminal practice. He accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work.
Cyrus has worked on a wide range of cases in his general civil practice, including but not limited to, property and land disputes, adverse possession, commercial and personal injuries cases. He has amongst others, acted for a successful plaintiff at trial in a property ownership dispute between a formerly cohabiting same-sex couple.
In his family practice, Cyrus has acted as sole counsel or led junior in cases involving jurisdictional disputes, MPS and injunctive applications. On children matters, he has acted for a successful applicant in an application to change the surname of a child. He has also advised an executor of an estate in resisting multiple claims for reasonable financial provision under Cap. 481.
Prior to joining Chambers, Cyrus served pupillage with Mr Tony Li SC, Mr Valentine Yim, Mr Eugene Yim, the late Mr Robin D’Souza and Mr Simon Wong. He was also marshal to Deputy District Judge Eugene Yim in the Family Court.
Cyrus is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. He is capable of providing written submissions and conducting hearings in both English and Chinese.
