Peter Barnes was called to the Bar in March 2014, and since then has established a practice primarily focused on disputed children’s matters (custody, care and control and access, relocation cases and Hague Convention) and financial cases (including trusts, third party interests, nuptial agreements, succession and inheritance, and enforcement/contempt).
Peter is a CEDR-accredited mediator and accepts engagements in matters involving both financial and child-related disputes, with the ultimate aim of achieving a lasting and permanent settlement.
Peter is regularly engaged in providing expert Opinions on Hong Kong family law for the purposes of overseas litigation, including in respect of the Hague abduction cases.
Peter is also a member of Chambers in Adelaide and practices in Federal Court matters in matrimonial and immigration law both in South Australia and in other Australian states.
